
RCS students in grades 9 to 12 had an opportunity to attend the Youth Leadership Day at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts which featured inspirational workshops, team building activities with students from other Sullivan County schools, and a keynote speech from Darryl "DMC" McDaniels from Run-DMC. We look forward to attending again next year.





It's going to be a busy day for sports on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Our modified cross country teams will have a meet at Sullivan West Lake Huntington at 4:15 p.m. The modified football team will take on Eldred at Livingston Manor at 4:15 p.m. The girls modified soccer team will be at Roscoe Central School at 4:30 p.m. in a match against Fallsburg. The busy day will conclude with girls varsity taking on Eldred at 7 p.m. in Livingston Manor.





Students in Pre-K through 6th grade visited to the firehouse last week for fire prevention day. They were able to see the fire trucks, use a fire hose, practice stop, drop and roll and crawling beneath the smoke, and learn fire prevention measures. See more photos on our Facebook page.

Come cheer on our Varsity Cross Country teams for a meet at the Tri-Valley Central School TV - Iatauro Sports Complex, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4.


Today is October 3rd and this is Mrs. Phillips with important information about the annual Early Dismissal /Evacuation Drill. The drill will take place this Thursday, October 6th with a staggered dismissal beginning at approximately 1:40pm. The car pick up line will begin dismissing at approximately 1:55pm.
All students will follow their regular dismissal routine, but will arrive at drop off points earlier than normal time. After the drill, the building will remain open and all after school activities and athletic events will continue as scheduled.
There will not be school for students on Friday, October 7th or on Monday, October 10th. Have a wonderful evening and see you soon at RCS.

Students in Mrs. K Davidson’s class reviewed what they’ve learned about decimals in a riveting game of Jeopardy. The students made the decision to be on a team against the teachers! What a close game it was and how fun it was to play students vs. teachers.

The seniors will be selling concessions at the Powder Puff Game at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and at the Varsity Football Game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, both under the lights. Thank you for your support!

The RCS Block Party/Open House will be tonight from 5 to 7. You'll be able to see all that's happening in the school and the Roscoe community. Check out the Scholastic Book Fair and several community and school tables set up in the gym, as well as food and more outside (weather permitting). Also take a walk in the hallway near the gym and view "Spread Your Wings and Fly!" a collaborative Art Installation by student in PK-12 curated by Meagan McDoal, art intern and RCS Senior Artist. And don't miss the Girls Varsity Soccer game under the light afterward. Can't wait to see you here!



Another fun college visit in the books! Eighth grade earlier this week toured the campus of SUNY Oneonta and were treated to an informal meet and greet with three college students (one of whom graduated from LMCS) while enjoying an all-you-can eat lunch in the dining hall. We'd call that a successful day!

All in fun (and learning)! Second year Spanish students began the school year reviewing previously learned vocabulary and grammar with a Fun Friday or "Viernes Divertido" playing Spanish Scrabble, Guess Who? "Adivina Quien?" and a grammar game called "Fichas."
