RCS eighth graders recently worked in groups looking to look at primary sources to discover the different immigrant experiences in the late 1880.





The Kiwanis Club created its annual pumpkin patch near the outdoor classroom space at Roscoe Central School on Friday, Oct. 21. Elementary students were able to go out and "pick" their own pumpkin. Thank you, Kiwanis, for continuing this wonderful tradition. See more photos on our Facebook page.

Third graders used their creativity in writing and art to express their views on "What should my teacher be for Halloween?"




The PreK class enjoyed their fall scavenger hunt. They went around the school looking for fall items on their list. They found acorns, bugs, birds, pumpkins, and lots of different colored leaves.





Third graders became doctors and "performed surgery" on arrays to explore the distributive property of multiplication.





The Class of 2023 will host an exhibition basketball game featuring the ABA Northeast Conference's Catskill Cardinals vs. the Raptors at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The Cardinals hosted a series of basketball clinics for elementary and middle school students at Roscoe and Livingston Manor earlier this year.
There is a suggested donation of $2 per person. Concessions will be available.


Students in fifth and sixth grades went on a field trip to Kelder’s Farm on Friday. They got to pick apples, pumpkins, feed animals and learn about what goes into farm to table products. See more photos on our Facebook page.



Roscoe's Student Government's Spirit/Varsity Jacket sale is underway.Jackets are for sale for ninth through 12th grade students only and cost $130. Anyone interested can contact Cindy Hyzer or Pam Carpenter but should do so ASAP.

Roscoe Central School fifth graders attended the recent Sullivan County BOCES Expo in Liberty. There there were able to take part in Halloween themed events as well as see all that BOCES had to offer.





Congratulations to RCS Math teacher Pam Carpenter, who was among the Sullivan County educators presented an Outstanding Educator Award during the Sullivan County School Board Association's awards dinner earlier this week. Also honored from Roscoe was board member and former teacher Lynn Wachter, who passed away in June.

Roscoe Central School families are invited to participate in Family Cyber Safety Night, a free live-stream event for all K-8th grade families. The one-hour nationwide event, presented by cyber.org and Family Code Night, will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. Participants will learn important cyber safety concepts, such as how to build strong passwords and guard against phishing scams. Then, families will create their own Family Cyber Safety Plan. Class of 2023 will host a spaghetti and meatball dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Roscoe Central School Cafeteria.
Meals will be available for takeout or dining in. The cost of dinner, which will include spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread, will be $13.

LMCS Ski Club will host a meeting on an planned overnight trip to Smugglers' Notch. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the LMCS Cafeteria. The trip is open to Livingston Manor and Roscoe students in seventh through 12th grades. At the trip, costs and fundraising will be discussed.


As part of the Single Bite Program, a chef visited the 8th grade Home & Careers classroom to introduce our students to unique flavors and textures of "real food." Smoked trout or gazpacho anyone? Later the students were treated to a trip to the North Branch Inn where they were served a delectable meal, sourced from local farms by a Foster Supply chef who explained how everything was prepared. Such a flavorful and extraordinaty experience!





It's going to be a football Saturday night in Livingston Manor when LM/Roscoe varsity football takes on Eldred at 7 p.m. Come cheer on the team!
