The RCS Drama Club will present "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" at7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6. at the Roscoe Central School Auditorium. It’s a very ordinary and rather boring day for Alice until she spots a White Rabbit with a pocket watch whizzing through a world that’s beyond imagination! Her insatiable curiosity draws her into a madcap adventure in which she meets remarkable characters like the Caterpillar, Talking Flowers, Tweedles, Dodo Bird, Mad Hatter and March Hares. When Alice finally catches up with the White Rabbit in the Queen’s Court, she’s in for her biggest adventure of all. The wonder-filled world of Alice is a fantastic journey for the adventurous of any age. The public is invited to attend.
The RCS Class of 2028 is hosting a food drive to support the local food pantry through May 12. Cans of tuna and soup are being collected. Donated items may be brought to the school to place in designated donation boxes. Members of the public may also drop off items in the school lobby.

On Wednesday, April 26, the fourth graders began their science unit on ecosystems by creating one — a worm farm. Students layered newspaper and dirt to create the red worms' environment. Students are collecting small amounts of food from their lunches to recycle and feed to the worms. Everyone will take a turn misting them with water and checking on their food supply. The class started with 68 red worms.
2022-23 Parent School Climate Survey
As part of the School Climate Transformation Grant, we are asking you to please take a few minutes to complete the following survey (link to the survey: https://forms.gle/7b1gRxQHCwowvxsC9 ). All responses are anonymous and no email addresses will be collected upon submission. The responses from the survey will help us plan and use grant funding in the best way to support the needs of our district. We will be doing this yearly throughout the remainder of the grant to gain insight on the programs we are implementing and the impact they are having on the climate of our school. On Friday, April 21, to conclude their studies of New York as a colony, Grade 4 celebrated with a Colonial Food Fair — or at least modern versions of some of the food they would have eaten. Principal Phillips joined in on the feast as well
The Roscoe Central School PTA will host "My VIP Dance," a red carpet event for students in pre-k through four grades and their "Very Important People." It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, in the RCS auditorium. Tickets, at $10 per couple and $5 each additional person, are on sale now. Tickets include the DJ, refreshments, a photobooth and more. Checks should be made payable to RCS PTA and be returned to the child's teacher, along with a form sent home earlier this month, by May 1. RCS High School Art Students had an opportunity to tour the museum while they were at Bethel Woods for the Sullivan County PK-12 Countywide Art Show. It was a great day to celebrate Peace, Love and ART!

Roscoe Central School Student Government is taking part in the Sullivan County Country Cares for St. Jude's "Help us Boot Cancer" Radiothon through May 15.
Those who wish to participate can donate $1 and receive a boot card and cand dedicate it.
The money will support the work of St. Jude Chrisan's Research Hospital and the lifesaving mission of finding cures for children with cancer and other deadly diseases. Thanks to donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude fore treatment travel house and food.
The event is sponsored by SUNY SUllivan, Bold Gold media, Thunder 102 and Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association.

PreK enjoyed the beautiful weather earlier this week and looked for signs of spring.
Congratulations to our amazing artists! While at the Art Show at Bethel Woods on Thursday, April 13, five RCS students won six awards: Nevaeh Bush won Student Choice and Artists Choice awards; and the following won Student Choice awards: Angelena Hund, Gabriella Alger, Brooke Bull, and Kelsey Ryder. Awards were given by professional artists from the area and by high school students participating in the Art Show. The public opening reception is from 2 to 6 p.m. today, April 14, and the show will continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16.

Over spring break, members of the Wellness Committee installed a Sensory Path in the Faculty Room hallway. It offers students and staff guided movement opportunties. The project was created in conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County, Creating Healthy Schools and Communities.

Roscoe-Rockland Ambulance Corp., in coordination with the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps, will host an emergency preparedness training at 6 p.m. Friday, May 19. at Roscoe Central School. The event is open to the public 18 and older. The training will teach residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. The course will address natural and manmade disasters. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing family emergency plans and stocking up on emergency supplies. Earlier this week, the Class of 2023 presented their plans for their senior trip to the Board of Education. The trip is scheduled for June 4-7 in Ocean City, Maryland.
