The Rockland Central School District Board of Education met March 27 and April 1 to continue the process of establishing the new district.
During the March 27 special meeting, the board established two voting districts, following the lines of the former Livingston Manor and Roscoe central school districts. Additionally, the board, which initially approved a single voting site during the March 18 meeting, voted to establish a second voting site at the Roscoe school for the May 20 budget vote. Voting will take place from noon to 8 p.m. in each school’s gymnasium.
Also at the March 27 meeting, the board approved the nomination of Allyson Smith to the Sullivan BOCES board.
The board is continuing with budget discussions, with the budget proposal to go before voters expected to be approved at the April 22 meeting. Board members are reviewing and have begun approving policies.
The board will next meet at 6:30 p.m. April 9 in the Roscoe building cafeteria
