Livingston Manor, Roscoe School Boards to have joint meeting
Sen. Oberacker to discuss state funding; merger study addendum to be reviewed
The Boards of Education of the Livingston Manor and Roscoe Central School Districts will hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the Livingston Manor Central School main gym.
Sen. Peter Oberacker will be at the meeting to address the boards and community about the outlook on school funding for the 2025-26 state budget. He will review last year's proposed cuts to Foundation Aid that were included in the Governor's Executive Budget Proposal and offer his insight on the outlook for Foundation Aid in the coming year.
After the senator speaks, the boards will review the key elements of the updated 2024 Merger Study Addendum recently approved by the State Education Department. The boards will be asked to consider if the changes from 2022 to 2024 warrant putting the question of merger back before the voters of the Livingston Manor and Roscoe school communities.
The meeting is open to the public, and the districts encourage faculty, staff, parents, students and community members from the communities to attend.
